Your fluorescent tubes will be phased out in 2023

Fluorescent tubes have been a staple in workplaces for many years, but they are on their way out. The EU has just decided that all T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes must be phased out from August 2023. This news might come as a surprise to many, but the Danish Energy Agency encourages both businesses and public workplaces in a press release to exercise due diligence and switch to LEDs as soon as possible. This is aimed at avoiding bottlenecks in the market.

This is a gradual phase-out, and it will be illegal to import or produce traditional linear fluorescent tubes. The phase-out of fluorescent tubes is being carried out under the EU Regulation RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU.
